When I think about WW2, the most horrific war in the modern era, I visualize it, as if everyone was greatly impacted by it and that no one really lived a "normal life," as the entire human race was transforming, but when I see people texting about sports, like it's the most important thing in the world and not taking even a slight interest in geopolitics, I realize that this must have been the same in the 1930's and 1940's.
Some simply aren't developed enough along their journey to be part of the great drama of global affairs and just want to be left alone to live the quiet life.
