His Bullshit is Not Winning Hearts
Back in the days of WW2, there were false European messiahs: Hitler from Germany, Mussolini from Italy, and Stalin from the USSR. They fought over which of their three ideologies should rule the world, and there came a wind from the West with its promise of freedom, liberty, and democracy for all when it joined the war.
Germans wanted a world built on race with some superior, others mediocre, and the rest inferior and bound for destruction.
Stalin argued that the government was the solution and that everything would be perfect if people trusted him, so if tens of millions needed to sacrifice themselves and die for him to be the messiah, it would be worth the fight.
Mussolini had yet another stroke of “genius” messianic grand delusion: marry the corporations and government into a fascist regime and the masses will be happy about their equality.
These clashed, merged, shook hands, and fought, but the Americans and Japanese wanted to have their say as well. Japan thought Caesar was a demigod and was willing to fight and die for him come what might. Americans cherished personal freedom and the sacred ground of free enterprise and competitive capitalism as the only motivators of human beings. These cultures tore each other apart.
Who would be the one that reads the chessboard better? Who would get the upper hand?
As it turns out, in the battle to control the world, the scientists of the period looked to harness nature to assist and realized the power of nuclear bombs, a day that changed the human race for good.
America reasoned to itself: “If I join forces with the allied countries along with the Soviets, the Germans would not stand a chance…” It was not so fast or clear-cut, but in the end, it turned out to be true.

But what about the Japanese? How can you make this nation surrender, the only country that has ever dared to attack America on U.S. soil in such a mighty manner?
Now that Japan had seen Germany fall and wave a white flag, it would surely also beg for mercy, wouldn’t it?
By mid-1945, Harry S. Truman had hundreds of thousands of battle-savvy soldiers at his disposal who had come back from Europe and northern Africa and could be sent to the Pacific to secure the ocean from the threats it posed.
Truman’s advisors, each swaying him in a different direction while all giving him counsel and remarks, surely left some mark on the Missouri-born president, but what he knew after visiting Europe was that even though Italy and Germany had seen squashed, Stalin didn’t only have a mustache like Hitler’s but was also equally ambitious to conquer the continent.
He also knew that 300,000 more dead Americans would be the result if he shipped a million men to fight the Japanese and decided to show the world that the United States was willing to go to extremes when dropping atomic bombs on Hiroshima on August 6th, 1945.
Today, a new false messiah has emerged, and he wants us to all hold hands and take his climate change agenda up the tailpipe.
Klaus, if there’s one thing I can assure you, it is that no one will remember you, and that’s the best compliment I can give you.
Get lost.
